Cooperation of Iran and Russia in the field of new technologies will be improved
On the third and last day of travel to Russia, the vice president for science and technology affairs emphasized the necessity of increased cooperation between the two countries, stating: new knowledge and technologies, including nanotechnology, biotechnology, aerospace sciences, cognitive sciences, and new energies, will accelerate the pace of development in the future.
According to the public relations and information center of the Vice-Presidency for science and technology affairs, Moscow, the capital of Russia, hosted a large group of authorities and knowledge-based companies in the field of technology and science of Iran. Sorena Sattari, the vice president for science and technology affairs, is the head of this high-ranking delegation and presented a speech on the meeting of Iran and Russia today.
At first, Sattari regarded Russia as a powerful political and economic pole in the vicinity of Iran and a country that has provided great opportunities to develop economic and political relations as a friend. On the other hand, Iran has provided similar opportunities for Russia.
The president of the national elites foundation expressed: therefore, cooperation in the field of technology and innovation between Iran and Russia has been followed up in the past few years through a special structure, which shows the importance of technological interactions and insistence on improvement of bilateral relations in this section. It is hoped that new technologies such as nanotechnology, biotechnology, aerospace sciences, cognitive sciences and new energies be able to provide an opportunity for quick development and a better future in this geographical area.
In another part of the speech, Sattari pointed out the activity of more than 4400 knowledge-based companies in Iran.
Treatment of People in Regional Countries with Iranian Biotechnology Drugs
The president of the national elites foundation pointed out the remarkable advancement in the field of drugs, adding: technology for the development of advanced equipment such as surgeon robots, linear accelerators, dosimeter devices, radiofrequency systems and diagnostic cyclotrons are developed by knowledge-based companies in Iran and serve the health sector of the country.
Emphasizing the reliance on self-adequacies to create constructive and dynamic relations and cooperation at the global level, Sattari marked: my presence on this trip along with 70 technological companies in various fields, such as health, information technology and communication, engineering services, electronics, and chemical compounds, shows the importance of this trip and our motivation.
Preparation of Iran to Establish a Joint Fund
During the meeting, Ali Vahdat, the head of Iran national innovation fund, considered one of the necessities of technological cooperation, especially at the international level, to be efficient and smart financing.
Necessity of Economic Cooperation of the Two Countries
In addition, Mahdi Sanaei, the ambassador of Iran in Russia, expressed: we are witnessing the holding of various conferences on the Iran-Russia relations. Some time ago, the 15th joint commission meeting on economic and commercial cooperation of Iran and Russia was held in Tehran and we held the second conference of cooperation between Iran and North Caucasian region.
Sanaei pointed out the agreement with Eurasia, marking: Iran"s agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union is important. There are five member states in this union. The conclusion of this free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union is an important step because it will eventually lead to free trade between Iran and five member states, namely Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Russia.
The ambassador of Iran in Russia also mentioned: this agreement has been signed in all countries, has been approved in the parliament of Iran and has been issued by the president of Iran two days ago.
Expressing the currently improved conditions of the country, Sanaei claimed: if we look at the statistics of Iran-Russia trade, the volume of trade has been growing over the past four and five years, and this growth in Iran"s exports is significant. Last year, Iran"s exports to Russia grew by 40%.
He described these conditions as an appropriate cooperation environment and emphasized that 502 Iranian exporting goods to the five countries of the Eurasian Economic Union were sometimes given zero and preferred tariffs, and this opportunity should be used. This is especially important in the field of technology and its achievements, and fortunately, we have good products in this area.
At the end, Sanaei regarded the presence of an Iranian delegation with the presidency of the vice president for science and technology affairs a sign of the importance of this field for Iran, appreciating the cooperation of the chamber of commerce and business council of Russia with Iran.
Foundation Will Be Laid for Cooperation between Iranian and Russian Knowledge-based Companies
Development of export and attraction of investors for knowledge-based companies are among the goals followed up in the trip of the vice president for science and technology affairs to Russia.
This is the second business and technology meeting on this trip held on July 12th, 2019 in Azimut Moscow Olympic, Moscow attended by 70 knowledge-based companies and Sattari.
In this meeting, in addition to the expansion of scientific and technological cooperation and interactions between the knowledge-based companies of Iran and Russia, laying the foundation for export of products, finding partners and attracting investors were followed up.
Managers of five Iranian knowledge-based companies presented a report on their technological products and activities to lay the foundation for development of bilateral cooperation. However, signing an agreement was the final part of this meeting.
Managers of 70 knowledge-based companies accompanied Sattari on this trip, which are active in various fields, including information technology, medicine and health, telecommunication, industrial equipment, machinery and electricity.
The trip was started on July 9th 2019 and will continue for five days to follow up the development of scientific and technological cooperation of Iran and Russia.
